a combination of style and vigor
People associate French culture with Paris which is dubbed “Fashion Capital of the Word” with its world-class cuisine, art, and architecture. It is no surprise that one of the events of Style Week JA 2018 dubbed as “French Elan” was influenced by French culture which highlights Jamaica and French connection.

This event took us to the beautiful residence of the French Ambassador Jean-Michel Despax and his beautiful wife Line who were our gracious hosts for the evening. Set amidst the backdrop of the beautiful French-style mansion with its stone walls and marble floor, with the Parisian red, blue and white lights that lit up the runway as the show began.
1st up was the dynamic duo from Heather Laine CEO Zoe Heather Summers and Sharon Elaine Peart-Neita and their beautiful collection that featured whites, silvers, red and gold with a few of their signature prints –this collection took us on a journey and showcases the various stages of the life of a woman which starts out as innocent with whites and ends with bold colors.
Next was the bespoke collection from Dexter Huxtables’ Spokes Apparel which showcased well-tailored pieces for the stylish man who enjoys dressing up for any occasion.
The Grande finale was Kevin O’ Brian who brought his Parisian influence to Jamaican soil with his structured yet abstract pieces that were both minimalist yet stand out and beautiful textiles.
As we say au revoir to French Elan.. we look forward to City Style –the night event at UDC Southern Car Park on Ocean Boulevard, Downtown Kingston.

Hello There ??
We have a small favor to ask. People are reading the Haute Lifestyle than ever since our recent placement in the South Florida Blogger Awards but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. We do not have investors and everything Blog related is funded out of pocket– we want to keep our journalism as fun and open as we can. So you can see why we need to ask for your help. Our article takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we believe our perspective and voices matter – because it might well be your perspective, too.

If everyone who reads our posts, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure.
