The Blog Anniversary passed and I didn’t realize–it was not until I went on LinkedIn and all these people were wishing me a “Happy Work Anniversary”. That is exactly what 7 years of Blogging feels like — a breeze!
There was a time this year that I was going to give it all up and be a regular person who didn’t Blog and each time I tried to quit a random person came out of the blue telling me how proud they are of me. That was when I realized this Blog is bigger than me and it seems my purpose is somehow somewhere between Fashion content and exclusive events and I just have to keep things going.
Being a Blogger for this long (in Jamaica) has taught me that success does not come overnight and I still have a far way to go. In the midst of it all, I find my self no longer in love with clothing and shoes since I watched a documentary on “fast fashion” and how they exploit and abuse people to make clothing just so we can share out “fits” on Instagram to get “likes“. I feel I have a void to fill as it relates to being an inspiration for young girls who are impressionable and take everything they see on Instagram as gospel and the only way to live. I feel this Blog needs to tell them that it’s ok to be smart, go to school (if that’s what they want) be goal oriented and not do what everyone else is doing just to be cool. This Blog needs to teach young people who to remove the mask of this world and truly love themselves.

7 years has taught me not to give up and keep pushing no matter the obstacles or the naysayers that will come and they will. In life, no matter what you do (good or bad) there will be people who will be against you projecting their own negativity and failures just because it didn’t work for them. Just do it anyway, and do it confidently!
7 years of Blogging has taught me to stay in my own lane and do what I’m called to do! Sure I look on social media and see other bloggers “living it up” on Social Media, then when I see them in real life they are not only catching feelings but “catching cabs” as they don’t own a car. Sure nothing is wrong with cabs but if you create a facade on Social Media that you own a car then you should actually own one right?
Being a blogger for 7 years has taught me that it’s ok to not have it all together — life is not perfect and most people don’t have it all together!
Thank you for the support and we will keep growing and though we hate doing this — if you can donate even a dollar. Blogs are expensive to maintain and we don’t have fancy, rich investors, it’s all out of pocket. See the donate tab on this page.
