You in Me is the Collection real-life besties Haya Aladsani (Harlienz) and Ghada Al Buainain presented at New York Fashion Week recently at Pier 59 Studios.
The duo breaks down the collection to represent both their brands where the “You” stands for Harlienz and “Me” for Ghada Albuainain. The Qatari based designers collaborated for the show to expand their reach and introduce the world to their strict yet diverse culture. Through the collaboration they also hope to make an impact on the style scene, drawing positive attention to Qatar as a region with a pool of emerging designers.

The pieces looked beautiful as they came down the runway and offered a light, airy and flowy vibe that moved effortlessly on the models. If I could use one phrase to describe the pieces it would be “elegant opulence”, the pieces look rich, without trying too hard. The Jewelry was simple and dainty that really complemented the pieces without too much attention from the clothing. The collection featured a mix of bold and neutral colors that accentuated delicate parts of the female body like shoulders and legs without showing too much and while staying true to the culture of the designers. There were off-the-shoulder dresses, a deep-v dress and a few that offered slits that showed just the right amount of skin. The stand-out piece from the collection was a bold purple and red dress with exaggerated sleeves and a deep V top that was sexy yet conservative.
The show drew quite a crowd — sitting in the front row were NYC’s most influential fashionistas, magazine editors, socialites, and high-watted local celebrities.
