The Canadian Women’s Club of Jamaica (CWC) proudly presented their 9th Annual Fashion Show dubbed “Spring Into Fashion” under the patronage of Her Excellency, Laurie Peters Canadian High Commissioner to Jamaica on Sunday, May 26, 2019.
The torrential downpour on Sunday last in Kingston did not dampen the spirit of the event as guests turned up in numbers at The Worthington at The Spanish Court Hotel in their “Sunday Best” to support the cause. The event hosted and coordinated by the beautiful and vivacious Joan McDonald who serves as the Compere and Fashion Coordinator featured some of Jamaica’s most acclaimed and highly sought after designers which included: Claudette Lopez-Lewis for Libellule Bespoke, Courtney Washington Fashion Gallery, Heather Laine, Mijan Inherited, The Mushroom, T& T Fashions with Simone Gordon and Maxbrown International. Each design was carefully accessorized by the beautiful hand-made pieces by The Kinna97 Jewellery Collection who specially made each item for the event.

When Haute People arrived, we witnessed the debut of the new Collection by award-winning, womenswear Fashion designer Courtney Washington known for his sophisticated yet effortless design style that is an embodiment of the modern woman. The collection took us on a beautiful journey of the “seasons” and featured black and white prints which he expertly paired with bold prints reminiscent of a beautiful spring garden, fiery reds and beautiful shades of marigold perfect for upcoming Spring events.
The evenings’ entertainment was provided by up and coming artiste Keith “Keibo” Campbell who had the guests singing along to his song selections as they chimed in at his command of the lyrics.
This year, the focus was on the CWC’s ongoing charitable work where the contributions of the evening will go towards providing safety equipment needed by Senior Living Homes — namely Monica’s Home, the Ozanam Home, and other Golden Age homes which will help the residents enjoy a healthier quality of life.
CWC Jamaica 2019 was a huge success which was well received and as the event continues to grow, so will their contributions to society! See highlights of the event below
