I am beyond thrilled to share that Haute People was recently featured in the Jamaica Observer! This recognition means so much to me because it highlights the hard work, passion, and persistence that have gone into building this brand over the past 13 years. As the founder of Haute People, I’ve always envisioned the platform as more than just a blog — it’s a movement, a digital fashion and lifestyle brand that brings Jamaican and international fashion to the forefront.
Haute People: A Personal Milestone and the Journey Ahead
Getting featured in the Jamaica Observer is a major milestone for me. It reaffirms the vision I had when I started Haute People back in 2011. At that time, digital fashion media was a relatively new concept in Jamaica. I had to push boundaries, attend countless events, and consistently prove the value of Haute People in the fashion space. Now, seeing the brand acknowledged by one of Jamaica’s leading newspapers makes it all worthwhile!
The Journey So Far
Haute People started as a passion project, inspired by my love for fashion and storytelling. I’ve always been drawn to self-expression through style, but the journey wasn’t easy. I had to learn how to merge fashion and digital media while staying true to my Jamaican roots. Over the years, Haute People has grown from a small blog to a well-recognized brand, covering prestigious events like New York Fashion Week, Paris Fashion Week, Miami Swim Week, Style Week Jamaica, and Caribbean Fashion Week.
This journey has been about more than just showcasing fashion. It’s about using style to connect with people and make an impact. I want Haute People to be a leading authority on fashion in the Caribbean — a go-to source for designer showcases, industry movements, and the art behind style.
Moving Forward: New Media, Same Purpose
As Haute People approaches its 14th anniversary, I’m more determined than ever to expand the brand’s reach. I’m planning to introduce more diverse content, including TikTok videos, podcasts, and interactive media. The fashion industry has evolved, and people are consuming content differently. I want Haute People to remain adaptable while continuing to champion Jamaican fashion talent.
My ultimate goal is to establish Haute People as the top Caribbean fashion media outlet — on par with international giants like Vogue and E! News. Whether it’s covering fashion weeks, highlighting local designers, or exploring fashion as a form of storytelling, I’m committed to pushing the brand forward.
Thank you to everyone who has supported Haute People from the beginning. This feature is not just a personal victory but a collective win for everyone who believes in the power of fashion and digital media. I can’t wait to share more exciting updates with you!
Stay tuned, and let’s keep celebrating fashion together!
