If “mi late, but mi reach” was a person, it would definitely be me as I made my way to the Coconut Runway Show, where Trendzy by Ackeilia Caine debuts the Coconut Collection, the official debut of the Summer Collection by fashion designer, Mission Catwalk alum, and CEO of Trendzy by Ackeilia.

The moment I pulled up to the Barbican venue, greeted by a long line of cars parked tightly along the sidewalk like ants on a mission, I knew I was in the right place. A voice from behind suddenly said, “Yuh late, but also early, so yuh good,” and I had to laugh; it felt like the night was already setting the perfect tone.
I found myself at the end of the runway, a prime spot to see it all unfold. First up? A bold and brilliant athleisure collaboration with Body by WATO. These weren’t your average gym fits; these were elevated essentials for the woman on the move. Neutral browns dominated the collection, punctuated by bright pops of colour, such as a sunshine-yellow biker short set that could easily transition from a gym run to the supermarket. Functional yet fierce, yes, please!
And then… the moment I was waiting for, the debut of the Coconut Collection.

As the lights went up and the guests sipped a mix of water and spritzers courtesy of Bottega Jamaica, you could feel the energy shift. It was time. Known for her “Island Vibe” pieces, Ackeilia did not disappoint. Every design seemed to celebrate every body, and that was reflected in the diversity of her models. Think: sexy monokinis in earthy tones, a jaw-dropping reversible two-piece, and sultry cut-outs placed with precision. It was clear, this collection was made for island girls everywhere as seen at the Trendzy by Ackeilia Caine Debuts the Coconut Collection
But wait, it wasn’t done. After the swimwear came the resort wear, and if you know me, you know I live for a good cover-up moment. Tightly fit mesh dresses, chain belts emblazoned with the “Trendzy” name, and playful fringes brought it all together. These weren’t just for the beach, they were for the bar, brunch, and beyond. As someone who loves to “tek mi hand tun fashion,” I’d rock these pieces any day of the week. And just when you thought the details couldn’t get any better, the looks were elevated even more by statement accessories from Aya Styler, a celebrated jewellery designer from Trinidad and Tobago. Her bold Caribbean pieces added the perfect finishing touch, gold accents, and island-inspired designs that danced in the lights as models strutted down the runway. It was a true Caribbean collaboration, showcasing regional talent in perfect harmony at the Trendzy by Ackeilia Caine Debuts the Coconut Collection.
Just when I thought the night couldn’t get better, out came Naomi Cowan to close the evening in style. Dressed in a daring black sheer monokini paired with a thigh-high skirt, she serenaded the crowd and praised Ackellia for her dedication and consistency in the fashion space. Her performance, just like the night, ended on a literal and figurative high note.

The Coconut Collection came just in time for Summer, and it’s giving everyone the chance to plan, shop, and style themselves confidently for the season. From swimwear to statement resort looks, it’s safe to say: Trendzy by Ackeilia has arrived—and she’s not slowing down.
