Meet Kaycia Thompson | Jamaica’s Serial Entrepreneur

THP: How did you start your company?
Kaycia: The Mogul Business Development Solutions firm started its operations in 2014 by founder Kaycia Thompson. Our consultancy firm consists of business consultants and Entrepreneurs with over 5 years’ experience in the business world and has started and nurtured a number of successful businesses. The company is set out to help to nurture micro, small and medium-sized businesses around the world with our strategic methods used to groom businesses and persons to success.
Services offered include Business plan development, Business registration, Motivational Speaking engagements, Goal setting, and development workshops, corporate training and workshops.
THP:  What is one life lesson you’ve learned thus far since being in business?
Kaycia: What you put in is what you get out and as a business person if you are not investing in yourself and your business then you are throwing away the opportunity to grow.
THP: How did you gain the skills and knowledge to offer the services that you do?
Kaycia: I hold a Bachelor degree in Entrepreneurship from the University of the West Indies, I also recently completed a 40-hour course from Jamaica Business Development Corporation, in Personal Initiative for Entrepreneurship Training and I also have a lot of experience from my own business initiatives.
THP: How important is Social Media for your Business?
Kaycia: Social media is very important as it is our main tool used for marketing and bringing awareness of our business and the services offered. It also enables us to share a wealth of information to our audience to enlighten them on different areas of business.
THP: Do you think Jamaica is more receptive to alternate career choices like yours?
Kaycia: I do not believe they are because to be interested in a career field you need to have an understanding of what they will be offering and be familiar with the field, and Jamaica is not there as yet but it is slowly growing.
THP: For those interested in starting a business like yours .. what are your top 3 tips for raising capital?
Kaycia: Well this business is a service-based business so the need for raising capital to start this business is not necessarily as important as a product-based business.

THP: What motivates you on a daily basis?
Kaycia: The passion I have for helping entrepreneurs and bringing their business to life.
THP: How do you balance work + life?
Kaycia: I am pretty organized and I do create mental daily schedules of what I need to get done. Creating a set time when I do my reading, course developments, and time for life overall. I do balance work and life overall pretty well.
THP: How do you prepare for motivational talks?
Kaycia: I normally do a lot of research on the topic I am going to speak on, I ensure I know my matter well and create a schedule to practice to ensure I am clear and my message is received.
THP: How can people book your services?
Kaycia: I can be contacted at 1-876- 263-2780
