Just in case you missed the memo, nails are BIG business! The subtle French tips we are used to “back in the days” has now been replaced by fierce bold colors, geometric prints, and crystals. We here at The Haute Lifestyle is always on the lookout for all the latest trends and when we discovered Sherita Edwards and her Nail Art Brand Luxe Nails which is her luxury Nail Kit we knew we had to know more. This is not your average Nail Kit as the nails are expertly designed and curated and are “salon ready” using the finest quality material to create them – they look really, really good! Meet Sherita, the Queen of Luxe Nails.

THP: Who is Sherita Edwards (where did you grow up went to school etc)?
Sherita: I am a nail tech and have been in the industry for more than 10 years, a mother of 2 boys (12 and 8), and an entrepreneur, the proud founder and owner of Luxe Nails.

})();

THP: How was Luxe conceptualized?
Sherita: Luxe was started because I realized there were voids in the industry and problematic issues with clients scheduling time for appointments, not having space for new clients, and client work policies, which didn’t allow them to have nail extensions or polish. I decided to rejuvenate an outdated concept with a new fresh fashion-forward one– luxury press-on nails.  I wanted women to have their nail lifestyle without compromising.
THP: Your nails are exquisite – did you design them yourself and what was the inspiration for each collection?
Sherita:  Yes, I design each nail myself using only quality salon grade products. The nail designs are inspired by fashion, culture, and what I’ve noticed working in a salon with women.
THP: Of all the areas in the Beauty Industry, why nails?
Sherita:  Out of all the areas in the beauty industry I chose nails because it’s my passion and has been since I was younger. I love being able to create little works of art and play around with colors and designs.

THP: Who is your ideal “luxe” customer?
Sherita: My ideal Luxe customers are women who love fashion and getting their nails done. Women who know the importance of beauty and keeping their nails done and understand that nails are as important as the clothes they wear.
THP: On average, how long do the nails last?
Sherita: Luxe can be worn 2 different ways which determine how long they will last. On average if using the nail tabs, we suggest anywhere from 1 day to a week. Application with glue on average can be worn for 2 to 3 weeks, but the wear can be longer if applied properly and the instructions are followed.

THP: What is one life lesson you’ve learned thus far since being in business?
Sherita: One life lesson I have learned being in the business is to remember that nothing is for certain and to continue to be successful and I am going to have to work hard and make sacrifices. Fashion and what people like is always changing so I must stay up-to-date and continue to learn.
THP: How do you balance work + life?
Sherita: I balance work and life by making sure I make time for myself and my family and when working, scheduling accordingly and sticking to my time periods.
THP: Any words of advice for #girlbosses seeking a similar path like yours?
Sherita: The best advice I have for #girl bosses is to stay humble, stay focused, and if there’s no lane create one.  To smile when they want to cry and to move with confidence. NEVER giving up.

THP: Where can we find the products?
Sherita: You can find all your favorite designs and Luxe merchandise on the Luxe website at www.pressonluxe.com
