Enthusiastic cheers echoed through the venue as showgoers expressed their excitement for the vibrant and captivating clothing showcased during the presentation. Hudson’s runway this season featured an array of workwear and eveningwear, described as subversive, sensual, and intricately designed.
Discussing the color palette for this season, Hudson revealed a predominant use of neutral tones, particularly rich chocolates and browns. While he had experimented with these hues in the previous season, the Fall/Winter 2024 collection delved even deeper into the exploration of these sophisticated and versatile colors.
Hudson’s reinterpretation of workwear challenges conventional ideals, offering pieces that exude office realness. Standout items included midi dresses with cinched waists, a bold cherry red two-piece suit, and leather bustiers in luxurious brown tones. The runway showcased androgynous corsetry, a powerful element that Hudson believes will resonate strongly with his customers.
Evening-ready garments made a striking appearance, featuring a golden floor-length frock paired with a tan wool coat and a brown leather-inspired top complemented by winter white trousers. A highlight of the show was a cocktail party-ready gown in kelly green, adding an unexpected yet welcomed burst of color to the collection.
The collection drew inspiration from iconic figures like Diahann Carroll and Bianca Jagger, evident in the fleshed-out silhouettes of midi skirts and dresses. Hudson shared his excitement about embracing fuller silhouettes, stating, “I want to see the girls have fun on the runway.” This sentiment reflects a commitment to movement, weight, and an overall celebration of individual expression in fashion.
