The event brings together established and emerging voices in Jamaican music for a night of reggae and dancehall. For Capleton, headlining Appleton Estate Live Wire for the first time is an opportunity he is approaching with anticipation.

“It’s always an enthusiastic feeling to perform at an event for the first time,” he said. “Expectation high, anticipation high, it’s a pleasure being the headliner and leading the charge for this year’s staging of Live Wire.”

Audiences can expect the commanding delivery and uplifting message that have helped define Capleton’s career. He sees each performance as a chance to connect with fans, share music with purpose and give audiences an experience worthy of their support.

That connection, he said, has helped sustain his work across generations. Passion, resilience and respect for the audience remain central to his approach, alongside a commitment to taking pride in the craft.

“The passion that I have for the music is what fuels the consistency, the longevity, the substance, the resilience,” he said.

His advice to younger performers centres on discipline, humility, self-determination and respect for the artists who helped pave the way. “Self guard your character, don’t forget discipline, humility, tolerance and don’t forget to pay homage to the people before you who paved the way, people who gave you the privilege, believe in yourself, and always remember that self determination is the key,” he said.

Appleton Estate’s partnership with Live Wire reflects the brand’s connection to Jamaica’s musical heritage and its support for the artists carrying that culture forward.

“Appleton Estate has a longstanding connection to Jamaica’s rich musical heritage, and our involvement in Live Wire reflects our continued commitment to celebrating the culture and the artistes who keep it thriving,” said Dominic Bell, Communications Manager at Appleton Estate. “By bringing an icon like Capleton together with emerging talents such as Deep Jahi and Jamarii, the event creates a platform for different generations of Jamaican music to connect, while giving rising artistes an opportunity to showcase their talent to wider audiences. We are proud to support experiences that champion our music, celebrate our people and keep Jamaica’s cultural legacy moving forward.”

For Jamarii, sharing the stage with Capleton marks a significant moment in his own musical journey. He described the opportunity as a mix of pride, happiness and nerves, and said he is grateful to be part of the event.

also sees the line-up as a chance for established and emerging performers to learn from one another: younger artists can draw on the experience and discipline of veterans, while bringing fresh sounds and new ways to engage listeners.

“It’s really about learning from each other and keeping the culture moving forward,” he said.

Deep Jahi also sees the performance as a milestone. He has looked to Capleton as an inspiration since the beginning of his musical journey and considers it an honour to share the stage with him. He is especially looking forward to performing in Clarendon, where he says he has a strong base of support.

For Deep Jahi, Appleton Estate Live Wire offers emerging performers a valuable platform to reach new listeners. He plans to stay true to his artistry while bringing audiences closer to his music, including the emotional qualities he values in live and acoustic performance.

With Capleton’s influence alongside the next generation of Jamaican talent, Appleton Estate Live Wire is set to celebrate the breadth of the island’s music at The Wharf. Bell encouraged patrons to take in the experience, saying: “This is an opportunity to experience music across generations while sipping on your favourite Appleton Estate mix, you do not want to miss this.”
