How to Refresh Your Business in 2020

Pinterest LinkedIn Tumblr

Just in case you might not have realized, we have launched a series we’ve decided to call #betteryou2020 for the month of January that will focus on self-development, business, health, beauty and Blog tips. This series will help you to set small bite-size goals and keep you on track to achieving the larger goals.

It almost feels like 2019 went by rather quickly and 2020 is gonna breeze by even faster! With that being said, your business can become stagnant and might need a refresh to motivate you for 2020 and help to give you fresh ideas for growth. If you are interested in learning about simple yet effective ways to help you grow your business, keep reading!

Clear your Desk

Whether you have a large executive desk or use a side table to store your business belongings, it’s time to clear that space! I don’t know about anybody else, but a clear desk equates to a clear mind and it will definitely help to put away all the things from 2019 you no longer use. This will be a great way to implement a filing system whether traditional (actually purchasing file jackets) or digitally (scanning or adding documents to your computer).

A clear desk is a happy and clutter-free desk .. get on it!

Update your Website

There is nothing more off-putting than a poorly designed website that is not user-friendly and turns readers away! I would know as before we had this beautiful visually appealing website it initially looked like moss! It was cluttered and had many flashing lights and moving parts that did not belong. Now is the perfect time to update your website — change the fonts, pick a clean and sleek layout and ensure the contact number you listed actually works!

var isSSL = ‘https:’ == document.location.protocol;
var mnSrc = (isSSL ? ‘https:’ : ‘http:’) + ‘//contextual.media.net/nmedianet.js?cid=8CU3G4D0M’ + (isSSL ? ‘&https=1’ : ”);
document.write(”);
})();

Review your Client List

Depending on the nature of your business, you have different types of clients. There are some who are constants and some who only work with you on a seasonal or campaign basis. January is the perfect month to review your client and decide who is still on your roster. In this stage, you can segment your audience and think of sending emails to see if they are still interested in doing business with you or not.

Create a Marketing Strategy

Think of a Marketing Strategy as a blueprint of success for your business. Since it’s your business, you can be as creative as you want and the best part is trial and error or as seasoned marketers call it A/B Testing. I create a Marketing Strategy at the start of each year that is quite extensive where I create sections and the ways I plan to execute which help to keep me on track. By the time it gets to the middle of the year I’m able to track success (or failure) and see what works and what doesn’t and implement better strategies that will actually work. I will do a blog post on how to create a Marketing Strategy and Follow-up with a webinar, so be on the lookout for that.

Rethink Contracts + Data Privacy

Let’s start with Data Privacy in light of all the things that have been happening in the YouTube space where Influencers are being penalized as it relates to data privacy.  It is important to be up to date with all the latest laws relating to data privacy + protection to ensure you will still be able to earn money on a consistent basis! Go online, research Data Privacy + Protection and see which one applies to your business and ensure it is up to date.

As it relates to contracts, review them carefully to ensure everything makes sense and check if things are up to date and you have held up to your end of the bargain. Most contracts will run for a year depending on the nature of business and you want to ensure you are still under contract or if you have people under contract with you — decide whether or not the contract will be renewed.

We hope these tips will help to give you some ideas on how to refresh your business and you will implement them and add some of your own to get the best results. Be sure to keep up with the series and follow us on Social Media.

We have a small favor to ask. People are reading the Haute Lifestyle than ever since our recent placement in the South Florida Blogger Awards but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. We do not have investors and everything Blog related is funded out of pocket– we want to keep our journalism as fun and open as we can. So you can see why we need to ask for your help. Our article takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we believe our perspective and voices matter – because it might well be your perspective, too.
