Hi Guys

No, you are not seeing things it’s really me. It’s been a while since I’ve posted here because things at work have been crazy. We’ve been working non-stop from morning to night and even on weekends which has been to say the least .. ALOT!! not to worry as I’m working on new content for 2021 which you will love. Now that we’ve addressed the Elephant in the room let’s jump into today’s topic, My Fitness Journey.

Why I Started Going To The Gym

I started going to the gym officially in October so this content is all about My Fitness Journey since then. Starting out, I was always skinny like really skinny. In Jamaica, we say “mawga” if a person is skinny so I was magwa. When I hit 30 I decided to go on a weight gain journey since I was living abroad at the time and what better place to gain weight right! Food is cheap in America and everything you need to speed up your weight gain is within reach. I opted for the “natural” way which involved eating more proteins where I was drinking Equate Shakes from Walmart daily and was having foods high in protein like Salmon. By the time I came home, I was 113 lbs up from 98 lbs and I continued on and went to 125.. that was my heaviest and I felt accomplished. Thing is, I’m 5ft and the weight showed in my hips, thighs, and lower belly. Fast-forward to October 2020 and I started researching Gyms as this was something I’ve always wanted to do.

Like most people I had a few doubts:

  • Will I be able to afford it?
  • Can I keep up?
  • Will I have time?

As it turns out these were all thoughts I placed in my own mind and I’m now a part of a Gym with a personal trainer. Since then I’ve seen physical changes and have been going 4 times per week since I started. So far, the pros are:

  • More Energy
  • Less Annoyed at work ( they be testing)
  • Mental Clarity
  • Great way to start the day

I like that the Gym I go to is small and it’s sanitized! There are Lysol bottles with paper towels everywhere and there is a wonderful lady who keeps the place clean so we can use it daily.

This is indeed an investment in myself and a lifestyle change and I will definitely be going for as long as I can.

Let me know if there is something you’ve always wanted to do but keep talking yourself out of it because of your own fears.
