And Just like that …Sex and the City Reboot Photo is Out

Spotted! 3 gal pals casually strolling along 5th street about to show the 20- somethings how to navigate, love, life and of course sex in New York City!

“And Just Like That … we were given the first cast photo from the Sex and the City Reboot which received mixed responses from fans online. The major observation is that the actress who plays Samantha, Kim Cattrall is obviously not in the photo which is no surprise since she said she would not be coming back as she does not get along with Sarah Jessica Parker. This is what has been said but we don’t know if it’s true because Parker seems to deny it:

“No. I don’t dislike her. I’ve never said that. Never would,” Parker said, refuting a commenter’s claim that the two “dislike each other.” She went on: “Samantha isn’t part of this story. But she will always be part of us. No matter where we are or what we do.”

I can’t say who is wrong and who is right but all I know, the series won’t be the same without Samantha, but I’m interested to see what the plot will be and the storyline explaining Samantha’s absence.

Filming has began, and the official photo was released on July 9, 2021 and we do know it will be aired on HBO Max, but a date has not yet been confirmed.  The entire series has been named “AND JUST LIKE THAT”, which was Carrie’s famous phrase, to indicate how quickly things happen or change in a casual yet real-life way.  Sarah Jessica is also coming back as the Executive Producer with Michael Patrick King as the Show Runner and an all women’s writing team. I really hope they integrate some life life experiences that showcase the real New York, like taking an Uber vs a Yellow Cab, or having to take the train like a regular person.

“I think that Cynthia [Nixon], Kristin [Davis], and I are all excited about the time that has passed,” she said. “You know, who are they in this world now? Have they adapted? What part have they played? Where have they fallen short as women, as friends, and how are they finding their way? Did they move with momentum? Are they like some people who are confused, threatened, nervous [by what’s happening in the world]? I’m so curious and excited to see how the writers imagine these women today.”

As it relates to the Costume Designer, Patricia Field won’t be coming back as word on the street is that she has her hands tied styling “Emily in Paris”, Season 2. Instead, we have Molly Rogers who styled the Sex and the City 2 Movie. So far the looks are “fresh”, age appropriate, and suits each character. I’m really interested to see how they will use costumes to tell stories and show the transition and growth of the characters in 2021.

It has also been confirmed that “Big”, as. well as other familiar faces and love interests will make a few appearances in the series.

I will of course watch to see how it all comes together and how they will exist in a “Tik Tok”, YouTube and Influencer world!

Will you still watch or do you think it had it’s time and place? Comment below.
