Jamaica Healthy Hair & Beauty Expo 2022 | My Review

I am so happy things are slowly starting to go back to normal and I’m more confident going out to in-person events. To be honest, I feel like due to the Pandemic, my social skills have changed and I literally don’t know how to act around people!

With that being said, Saturday last, I decided to check out the Healthy Hair and Beauty Expo at the Police Officers Club in Jamaica. This was my first time at the event and it was a great time but there are a few improvements that could be made to make it exceptional! If you are interested in hearing how the event was for me, keep reading!

Healthy Hair and Beauty Expo Jamaica

Before I share my experience, I will share a few details about the event below so you can have a better understanding of what it is and how you can attend and participate in the next staging.

About the Event

The Healthy Hair & Beauty Expo (#HHBE) is Jamaica’s #1 & ULTIMATE Shopping Event. #HHBE’s concept was ignited in November 2018, with the goal of creating a fun, inspirational, creative, interactive, and educational shopping environment to celebrate women, their beauty, and what makes them uniquely beautiful! Our first series of events was launched in April 2019 in Kingston, Jamaica, to a collective of amazing women & men!

The event was slated to run from 10 am-5 pm, however, I opted to attend after 3 pm as it was an outdoor event and the sun was extremely hot on that day.  I liked that there was ample parking and a Security Guard who directed me to park at the entrance, so I didn’t have to walk too far. Usually, at most events of this magnitude, parking is always an issue so this was a pleasant surprise. As I walked in, there was no indication of where to go or who to go to as it relates to Media since I attended as Media. There were a few people who shared the same fate as me who literally walked past after being beckoned to purchase tickets at a table close to the entrance. In this regard, there could have been clear signage or where to go to purchase tickets. There was also no signage of the brands or vendors at the event as I always like to mark each by their name so I know who to tag. The brands had their own branding and there were some I knew from working with them or being familiar with their products.

I arrived in the middle of an exhibitor dance off which was a fun and cool touch as it removes the lines between patron and vendor interaction which allowed everyone to let their hair down and have fun! Since it was a Hair and Beauty event, I of course indulged and did some shopping and was able to grab a few things from Beauty Brands by MDS and Benjamins Cosmetics for a fraction of the cost so I went a little crazy. This was a major plus as I purchased the popular Tree Hut Scrub earlier in the day and bought another one for literally half the price I paid for 2 at the event. It was a shopper’s paradise if you are looking to update or re-up on your Hair, Beauty, and Skincare Products.

As it relates to the overall event, I gave it a 6/10 just because I felt with the promotions and marketing done on the organizer’s part, there were logistical issues that could have been better as it relates to signage and overall layout. I will definitely be back at the next staging as I feel it will be better since it will be post-pandemic.

I truly enjoyed the vibe and met a few new brands with which I plan to build connections and hope to work with in the future.

Let me know in the comments below if you attend Hair and Beauty Expo events and what you look forward to the most.
