Soca Monarch Machel Montano Joins GenXS for Exclusive Carnival Jamaica Performances!

Monday nights might not be the conventional choice for a band launch, but then again, GenXS is not your typical band. The GenXS Kickstarter event, presented by Johnnie Walker, unfolded at the exquisite Courtyard Marriott Hotel on 1 Park Close, New Kingston, Jamaica.

As the rhythmic beats of Umoja Drummers echoed through the air, it was evident that the spirit of Carnival had descended upon the venue. Attendees were greeted with a seamless fusion of music and spirits, ensuring no empty cups were in sight.

The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as esteemed guests, soca enthusiasts, and sponsors eagerly awaited the arrival of the “King of Soca” himself, Machel Montano. Despite earlier announcements about focusing on his Master’s Degree, Machel surprised everyone by gracing the stage, sending the crowd into a frenzy.

A special shoutout was given to GenXS Director Ajene Green, expressing gratitude to sponsors and partners for their invaluable support. Notable sponsors like Sean Wallace, Head of Commercial Red Stripe, Brit’ni Riley, Consumer Marketing Manager of Sponsorship at Wisynco, Mr Andre Roper , Brand Manager from KFC and Pizza Hut, Kelroy Clarke, Brand Manager Facey Group, The Honourable Edmund Bartlett,CD,MP,  Minister of Tourism, were acknowledged for their contributions.

Minister Bartlett shared exciting insights about the growth of Carnival, hinting at its expansion into Montego Bay. He emphasized how Carnival is reshaping Kingston as a hub for work, investment, and leisure.

Kamal Bankay, Chairman of Carnival in Jamaica, took us back to the roots of the journey that began in 2016, culminating in an annual economic impact of 4.6 billion dollars.
