“Beauty, to me, is about being comfortable in your own skin” – Gwyneth Paltrow

“What does Beauty mean to you?”

This was the first question asked by L’Oreal International MUA Jason Guasch for his Master Class with the Beauty Spot Ltd on Thursday last for his Makeup Master Class.

The event held in Kingston saw some of Kingston’s most sought after make-up artistes, make-up enthusiasts and of course The Beauty Spot’s team of extremely talented and knowledgeable make-up artistes.

})();

To get things started, in true L’Oreal Paris fashion, invited guests were taken on a trip to Paris where the brand is based with a quick introduction to French and Parisian culture by Alliance Francaise Jamaica who’s engaging presentation had the guests engaged and excited for the night! We were then given a quick chat on chocolate by local Chocolatiers of the “Chocollor -Choco Bites”

Up next was a brief reception where we were treated to an array of delicious meals and cocktails mixed with light conversation.

The Master class was then underway where Jason made his entrance on stage and began showcasing the products on his model. He emphasized the fact that there is no right or wrong way to do make-up. He then began with the brows where he opted for the Unbelieva-Brow Long Lasting Eyebrow Gel to create a natural brow — next was all about setting the base with the L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Lock Makeup Primer which is great for oily or combination skin. He then continued with concealer just under the eye but not at the ends as this will eventually cause creasing and will make you look older (PRO TIP) The star product of the day was the foundation where on display was the L’Oreal True Match foundation that was the perfect hue to match the model’s skin. Jason explained that to get the best match, it is highly recommended to test the foundation on your chest versus your hands or neck. The matched her beauty and the way Jason applied it was like skin! The application was flawless and his technique was effortless.

To complete the look he used a natural L’Oreal Paris Matte Coloured Ink, High Pigment which offered a smooth finish that blended really well with the make-up. Just when we thought the look was complete, he went in with an all-over highlighter called Shimmerista that is perfect for highlighting all over the skin and body and can be used to create a beautiful day to night looks!

The Jason Guasch Master Class was an extremely fun event with a great concept and I learned a lot!
