Fashion Week continues with Milan Fashion Week! Though we are a bit behind, we will still be sharing a few of our favorite Designers who presented their Spring/Summer 2021 Collections. We will be starting with Jeremy Scott, who presented his collection for Moschino where he used puppets as models.

Jeremy Scott’s spring/summer 2021 collection didn’t fail to delight. Big on froth, frills, and tulle-enveloped romance, designs were all-importantly presented in miniature, on marionette dolls created with Jim Henson’s Creature Shop. If you can tear your eyes away from the front-row regulars in doll form (British Vogue’s editor-in-chief, Edward Enninful, makes a cameo) note the soft, princess-pink color palette with shots of turquoise and seafoam, and intricate edges, panels, and boning exposed on the garments’ outsides in a collection inspired by couture and craftsmanship.

“The puppets are about 30 inches tall,” Jeremy Scott told British Vogue. “I’ve not seen the life-size garments, I’ve done fittings via Zoom and live chats, and all the fabrics I have seen and designed, through FedEx transporting things back and forth during the lockdown. But I’ve not seen the life-size pieces.” Still, it’s never too early to plot the pieces to covet – or to expect on a 2021 red carpet.

“It was like having a baby, like watching a child come to life for the first time,” Jeremy Scott told British Vogue, of the process of dressing his dolls. “Watching the puppets become so elegant, I have to say, it all exceeded my expectations. Generally, I have a fantasy that is so unreal and unbelievable that getting in that stratosphere is amazing and this just blew me away.” Below, 13 miniature gowns from the Moschino Spring/summer 2021 show we can’t wait to try on for size come next year.
